Leverage Your Luck

If you talk to enough people who play cards you start to hear the same thing over and over, that you need to leverage your luck. What this means is 80% of the time you're going to be delt mediocre hands, and when you're delt cards like these you mostly let them pass on by. But what really differentiates a good gambler from a great one is that when luck is with them, they bet big and leverage their brief advantage to get a huge payoff. Which is all well and good for poker and casinos but if you think about it, you can actually apply this to real life. 80% of your life is going to be same-old every day kinda days. But once in a while you get delt a hand that's pretty good. The thing is most people don't even realize they got a good deal and just continue on their way like it was every other day. What you gotta to is train yourself to recognize these good hands and then leverage it to your advantage by betting big. What that means is you cancel your meetings, you ignore your phone and even disregard your boss. You focus in on what's happening now and then push to turn this little bit of luck into a huge payoff later. Or at least that's the plan.

Welcome to Movember

It's Movember! What does that mean? It means our Creative Director has decided to grow a moustache for 30 days. He think's it's for a charity; something about helping men, (Editor's note: actually it's for men's testicular and prostate cancer awareness) but mostly he just wants an excuse to do something different.
MODERNIST COOKING

The photography blows my mind. I've heard how they did it but I still don't UNDERSTAND how it was done. I mean it's not photoshopped? WTH? I know they actually took a hacksaw to everything and cut it in half but I mean come on, how do you flip food in half a wok without spilling it everywhere and jump out of the way before the camera goes off? If someone wants to get us this for Christmas that would be awesome. http://modernistcuisine.com/
